Snow caving in Estergebirge

Since my old climbing partner Christoph moved to Munich, our possibilities of making mountain trips together had become more limited. Yet still we always tried to squeeze in a mountain trip when once in a while I visited Munich, and so it was in February 1996 as I visited Christoph for a weekend. And after having discussed the different options, we decided to make a trip to Estergebirge near Garmisch-Partenkirchen for, with a little luck, to climb the highest mountain of that area: Krottenkopf.
