A day on Harschbichl



Naturally our first choice was to go for the easier option, but soon we had to give up, as we thought the avalanche danger was too high on the slope we were to cross. There had fallen about 20-30 cm snow the day before, and this fresh snow had accumulated on the north side of the mountain. Instead we had to test ourselves on the North Ridge. On the first part of the ridge we could follow an electric cable supplying a transmitter higher up, but as the ridge steepened the cable disappeared in the snow, and we had to continue without.
