Kullen Classics

Although Kullen possesses a wide range of recreational activities which can be done here, here in this gallery I will concentrate upon the many climbing possibilities existing on Kullen, and then the other activities have to wait till another time. The climbing on Kullen is sharply divided into two different areas: the South coast with the most visited climbing crags of K2 and Carstens Rende, sporting a wide range of routes on mostly sound rock, and then the North coast which is much more peaceful and partly remaining a wilderness, where the sun only shines sparsely and the rocks tend to be somewhat damp. On the other hand some of the most important routes on Kullen is found here on the North coast. But if one starts climbing on Kullen, the natural place to begin with will be K2, named not from the famous Pakistani mountain, but an abbreviation of the Danish name for Climbing Course 2 (course 1 constisted of theory and indoor exercises). On K2 this little classic Navnløs ('Nameless', V+/6-) is found, and the guy on the picture has just grabbed the magic hold - now he just has to trust his fingers and pull through!
