| It was surprisingly easy to get to Gran Paradiso. From our base camp in Martigny we took the bus across Col du Grand St. Bernard to Aosta, where we changed to the Valsaverenche bus. The road up in the valley ended at a huge parking lot in Pont, and from here it was only a question of shouldering the pack and start the ascent towards the Vittorio Emanuele hut. |
