Weissmies by the back door

The first part of the route from the hut it is possible to follow a track through large talus areas, but in its way towards Zwischbergenpass, the track gets more and more insignificant. But once you have reached this deserted pass, Weissmies shows itself from its hidden side. Weissmies is well-known in the Saas valley for its beautiful snowclad northwest flank, but as I was standing here in this pass, I was pretty surprised to see, how beautiful this secret side of the mountain was. With increasing steepness, the south southeast ridge was winding its way towards the summit, following the border between snow and rocks, light and shadow, to the highest point seven hundrede metres above me. And this ridge was the route I was to follow.
