| The first trekking day led us up past the Biafo Glacier, which in earlier years had blocked the whole valley, but in the meantime had withdrawn several kilometres, and which outflow now could be crossed on a suspension bridge. Later in the day it was the Dumordo River, which earlier had been a major obstacle which were to be crossed in a wooden transport box, suspended by a wire across the river. Also here there nowadays had been built a suspension bridge. |
