| I made my first long hike in 1980 when I hiked for a week through the Abisko mountains in Lappland. This really was to my taste, but unfortunately there are only a few months in the year where one can hike in Lappland. So the following year I spent the autumn holiday to try hiking in Switzerland instead. I had selected a route from Interlaken across the ridge to Grindelwald, and thus I left Interlaken at noon one day in October to climb this mountain cliff. |
