| This morning we had started from Mojave, and driving up Highway 395 we had reached Lone Pine, the starting point for the normal route to Mount Whitney. Here we had planned to stay two nights, but as it still was the middle of the day we found it suitable to drive up to have a look at the trailhead to the route, and maybe get high enough to see how much snow there still was on the mountain. |
