A profile of Esfahan

Emam Khomeini Square is a large rectangular square, which mostly is devoid of traffic, which makes it a relief in the otherwise pretty trafficed Esfahan. Because except for a few mopeds and scooters, which might take the short cut across the square, there is no motorized traffic. Instead there here from time to time are horse-drawn carriages taking tourist for a ride around the square. Otherwise the whole square is surrounded by the large bazaar of Esfahan, which is one of the largest in Iran. On top of one of the corners of the square you will find Gheysarieh Tea Shop, which besides tea and the good view naturally also is able de deliver a hookah or two.
