| It was not only muddy sloughs we could see at West Thumb, because while we were walking around looking for the trail down to Yellowstone Lake we passed more puddles with almost boiling water. And although it could look tempting with a quick hot dip I felt sure that this would be too hot for comfort. Furthermore the banks of the puddles did not look too stable, and with the steep banks here it probably would be the best to keep a distance. |
