Tours in the 90s

[19-11-1992] - My fall from Zinalrothorn caused a pause in my climbing, and as I also could not get on the team for the Dhaulagiri expedition (which probably was quite good after the fall) I chose to spend my forces elsewhere in 1992. In spite of the fall I had managed to finish the Sierre-Zinal mountain race in good style, and therefore did it again in 1992 when I had my usual summer vacation in the Swiss Alps. As something new I went on two weeks' training holiday for distance running on Lanzarote, and besides that I also made use of the opportunity to learn to swim I invited my swimming instructor on an ascent of El Castillejo, which is the highest mountain of Lanzarote. He procured two bicycles which could bring us to the foot of the mountain, and we just managed to make it back to La Santa in the last light of the day.
