I had just returned home from Texas when my old mountain friend Erik called me and felt overlooked because I had gone to the USA without him - and he would also have liked to participate in that trip. But then I just could go there again, I replied, and the following month we went to the USA together. This then primarily became a nature trip, where I in the first hand wanted to climb a 4000-metre peak, which there actual was quite a few of in the USA, especially in Colorado, where we climbed Pikes Peak. Because this mountain my running mate Martin had a keen eye to, as there should be a footrace up to the summit of this mountain. But Erik and I were not content with only climbing Pikes Peak, we also visited a series of national parks in the neighborhood, among these Arches. During which I also visited Utah and Arizona for the first time.
