New Year on Verte

Aiguille Verte is probably the most impressive mountain in the Mont Blanc massif. No matter from which angle you see it, this mountain always rises, steep and declining, above the Chamonix and the other surrounding valleys, the highest peak in the local group of mountains. No easy routes lead to the summit, and very suitable the well-known French climber Gaston Rébuffat wrote in his 'bible' of the 100 best routes in the Mont Blanc massif: "It's on the Verte you become an alpinist". With a statement like this from such a capacity in his field, it is obvious that Aiguille Verte had become a sought-after mountain.
