| We left the hut at sunrise, as we had a long day ahead of us. Not only did we want to climb the highest summit of Watzmann, we also wanted to make the complete traverse of the mountain's three summits. In spite of the late time of the year, it was now October, the hut was fully occupied, so we were more than a hundred climbers setting out for Watzmann. The first summit, Hocheck, was quite easy to reach, as you only had to scramble up the wide ridge. |
