| Esfahan was world-wide known for its magnificent architecture having its great period in the 17th century under Shah Abbas I, an achitecture, which luckily still mostly is preserved in the central parts of Esfahan. And much of it can be seen all the way around the city's central square, Emam Khomeini Square. Here several interesting buildings stand around the square, for instance the Ali Qapu palace, which I unfortunately have not visited at any of times I have been in Esfahan. |
