West of Grand Combin

The summer 2004 was about to draw to an end, and I had managed to climb a sufficient number of mountains in the three weeks Jacob Klaris and I had spent in Zinal. We had climbed three mountains, and of these one 4000-metre peak, it being Bishorn, and with Bouquetins we also had ascended a summit, which none of us had climbed before. We should finish this summer's activities by running Thyon-Dixence, so that I also could introduce Jacob to mountain races. But as our last mountain trip before that race we would try to climb one more 4000-metre peak, one which none of us had climbed before. And for that purpose we had to take the train up in Val d'Entremont.
